Layla Kayleigh Wrote Me Back!

OMMFG! I'm totally buzzed right now.

I've met or had lunch with Film Stars, Rappers, Mayors, Governors, Presidents, even Yogi Friggin' Bera and I honestly have never been impressed with any of them...except maybe Stan Lee, Robin Williams and Whoopi Goldberg (sorry about your foot Whoopi - accident, honest).  Most of these folk come off as a bit plastic and well...phony, thus leaving me fairly unimpressed (with the exception of the few mentioned).

Well, now that you know that, let me explain something else to you. I don't do the fanboy thing. Really, I don't. I mean, I can admire your work and if I like something, I don't hold back about it but that doesn't mean I'm going to be all over you. Especially if you're a lady, I kind of think it creeps the ladies out if you're like that.  So, when I stumbled across G4 Tech TV for the first time and saw "The Feed", while I was stunned by Layla Kayleigh's (Feed's hostess) beauty, I wasn't stuck on stupid right away.  It took a few more viewings. As an artist, I have to study a person's movement so that I can recreate it in my art. It's almost second nature now...I do it without thinking...and she  gave off this very live and honest vibe. Part of that was in the fact that she smiled with her eyes. You can tell alot about someone if a person does that frequently in different scenarios.

I digress. Long story longer, the defining moment of this amazing woman's personality was when she was covering the PS3 launch party and tried to interview Lindsay Lohan. Mind you, Ms. Kayleigh had interviewed tons of stars that night and had a full film crew behind her.  Anyway, Lindsay seemed completely disinterested not just in the Party and the PS3 but also in Ms. Kayleigh herself.  The part that made me admire her though is that she gave Lindsay a second chance that night and Lindsay scowled at the camera, of which Ms. Kayleigh commented about when wrapping up her report.  The simple fact that she called Lindsay out like that on the air made my day and solidified my respect for Layla Kayleigh.  After that, I guess I was a fan.

Well, time passed and I had the opportunity to contact her. Normally I pass on such things because the one thing celebrities want more than anything else is to be able to have a "normal" life without the constant badgering of press or fans who're more fanatic than admiring.  The last thing I'd want is to be pooled into either of those categories, yet, I was compelled to take the chance.  I did, expecting nothing really. I knew she'd read it, she seemed the type to do so.  However, to get a reply and a kind, thoughtfull and direct reply at that, has me grinning ear to ear. Thank you, Ms. Kayleigh.

I AM GEEK. HERE ME ROAR.  :)
